Are you an undergraduate student or recent graduate interested in a summer internship experience at a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratory?

Join us virtually on Nov. 6 to learn about DOE's Summer 2026 Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) and Community College Internships (CCI) programs!

These stipend-based 10-week programs provide technical training and research opportunities at DOE national laboratories and other facilities. SULI and CCI are sponsored and managed by the DOE Office of Science’s Office of Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists (WDTS).

Here’s what you can look forward to during the event:

  • Live Informational Session: Attend a live webinar on the CCI and SULI programs.
  • Connect 1-on-1: Chat with representatives from national laboratories and the WDTS office
  • Intern Highlights Booth: Learn about the projects from past interns, including Ignite Talks and abstracts.
  • Lab Flash Talks Booth: Watch short, engaging videos to learn about the DOE national laboratories.

Plus, we'll be holding these fun engagement activities:

  • Live Trivia Sessions: Test your knowledge and compete in live trivia games for a chance to win prizes.
  • Scavenger Hunt: Visit booths to uncover answers to questions about national labs and enter a random drawing.
  • Booth Engagement Challenge: Hit specific benchmarks during the event to qualify for a prize drawing.

About SULI

Each year, students from around the country participate in the Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) Program at one of the 17 participating DOE laboratories/facilities. In this comprehensive internship, you’ll be mentored by a leading science expert who will guide you in a specific research area to gain maximum exposure to one of the many science and technology areas that underpin the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) diverse missions. This is an opportunity for you to enhance your professional network and develop your interests in state-of-the-art research facilities and to enhance your professional network.

SULI is a paid internship opportunity sponsored and managed by the DOE Office of Science’s Office of Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists (WDTS) in collaboration with DOE laboratories/facilities. Students can participate in SULI either in a 10-week summer internship (May–August) or in a semester-long experience (August–December or January–May).


About CCI

The Community College Internships (CCI) Program is a paid internship opportunity that is sponsored and managed by the DOE Office of Science’s Office of Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists (WDTS) in collaboration with DOE laboratories/facilities. Students participate in a 10-week summer internship (May–August) or in a 10-week internship during the semester (August–December or January–May).
