The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will hold an in-person, two-day career expo in Jacksonville, Florida, on June 16-17, 2026, at the Prime F. Osborne III Convention Center.

Every day, DHS employees are dedicated to securing our borders, enforcing immigration laws, protecting the nation’s cyber infrastructure, providing swift disaster relief to Americans, and preventing terrorist threats.

  • Business Operations, Budget/Finance, Cybersecurity, General Attorney, Human Resources, Immigration Services, Intelligence, Law Enforcement, Law Enforcement Instructors, Logistics, Mission Support, Program Management, and Transportation Security.

What to Expect:

At the Expo, you will have the chance to:

  • Engage with DHS recruiters and hiring managers to learn more about our mission and available career opportunities across the Department
  • Network with other professionals and explore how your unique background can contribute to our mission. 
  • Attend various workshops to learn more about the federal hiring process. 
Qualified candidates may have the opportunity to be interviewed, submit required testing, and receive a tentative job offer on the spot.

  • Who should register?
    U.S. citizens who are committed to serving the Department in support of achieving the freedom, prosperity, and democratic rule that the U.S. Constitution promotes and the American public deserves.

 
  • Do I have to attend in person?
    Yes. This is an in-person event only. You will not be able to attend virtually, nor will we accept resumes by email. We encourage anyone who cannot attend in person to visit us at www.dhs.gov/careers to learn more about our current opportunities available.
 
  • Do I need to attend both days?
    No, you are not required to attend both days. The format for both days is similar and will offer the same career opportunities.
 
  • What documents should I bring?
    Attendees should bring many copies of their resume and supplemental documentation (if applicable), including:
    • Forms of identification that are Real-ID compliant (required for all attendees). Digital IDs are not acceptable.
    • Statement of Service for transitioning service members still on active duty (if applicable)
    • SF-15, Application for 10-point Veteran Preference (if applicable)
    • Department of Veterans Affairs, Service-Connected Disability Award Letter (if applicable)
    • Form DD-214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (if applicable) 
    • Transcripts (if applicable)
    • Please note that digital formats of resumes and supporting documentation should also be available. 
    • Current and Former Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs):
      • Please bring copies of your training academy certificate(s) to expedite the hiring process and facilitate scheduling for FLETC training.
 
  • Are bags allowed? 
    To facilitate security, we strongly encourage candidates not to bring bags to the event. If you do require a bag, please bring a small bag with only essential items.
 
  • Will I have to go through security screening?
    All event attendees will be required to pass through a magnetometer as part of our security check. To expedite entry, please remove any metal objects (wallets, keys, phones, and belts) from your pockets/body before entering.
    Open containers with liquids and metal water bottles will not be allowed in the venue. Water is available within the venue at water stations and/or for purchase. 
 
  • What should I expect as I go through security?
    You will be directed to pass through a magnetometer. If you pass through a magnetometer and the alarm is triggered, you will be further screened by a hand-held magnetometer. Please be advised that no weapons will be allowed, including guns, knives, pepper/OC spray, etc.
 
  • What if I require a reasonable accommodation? 
    All candidates requiring reasonable accommodation support should note it during registration. Candidates requiring reasonable accommodation will be contacted with additional information. Once onsite at the event, candidates should report to the Reasonable Accommodations line. 
 
  • Can I come outside of the window of the timed-entry slot I selected?
    Candidates will only be allowed to enter the facility during their scheduled registration time. Please do not arrive earlier than 30 minutes prior to the timed entry slot noted on your ticket.


  • When is the latest I can arrive at the event?
    All candidates should be in line no later than 4:55 PM on both days. No candidates will be allowed to join the line after 4:55 PM.
 
  • Is there parking at or near the location?
    Public transportation and ride-share services to the event are encouraged. Limited parking is also available at the event. Registration confirmation will be required to enter certain parking lots.  

  • How should I prepare for the event? 
    DHS will only accept resumes up to two pages in length to comply with the Office of Personnel Management, Merit Hiring Plan.
