W&M Professional Development Week Networking Hour

Enhance your networking skills and make new connections with fellow members of the W&M community.

About

Connect with fellow members of the W&M community from all over the world to share your expertise and build your professional network!

The event will begin with a 20-minute workshop on personal branding and networking tips led by William & Mary Professor of Marketing, Dr. Dawn Edmiston Ed.D. '20 and marketing consultant, Amy Alyson Teller '98, MBA '18. You will then have the opportunity to network 1:1 with fellow attendees and expand your W&M connections.

This event is part of William & Mary's Professional Development Week (February 27-March 3). All week long, the W&M community will focus on celebrating our W&M network and professional affinities. No matter what stage of your career you are in, don’t miss this great opportunity to connect with and leverage your lifelong W&M network for professional success! #OneTribeOneNetwork

How it Works:

Online networking enables you to speed-network no matter where you are in the world. You can sign in from your desktop, smartphone or tablet. The 1:1 chats are text-based and timed with optional video & audio capabilities. A transcript of your conversations will be saved for you to access after each event, so you can look back at your chat history, review your notes, gather contact information and follow up!

While registering for the event, you will be asked to answer a few questions, including:

  • What types of experiences, skills, expertise, or connections can you share?
  • What types of connections, information or resources are you hoping to gain from this event?

You will be randomly paired for several 8-minute text-based chats that will allow you to make a connection, exchange contact information and build your W&M network.  After the event, be sure to add your new contacts to your network by adding them to your LinkedIn connections or following up via email.

We look forward to having you join us for this unique opportunity to connect with the Tribe around the world.
